YNMT.org is taking on a mission shaped by R. Buckminster Fuller's lifelong work: making this world work for everybody.
Bucky believed that the right kind of shelter, designed from the ground up to be efficient, repairable, dignified, and affordable, was one of the foundational elements of giving working families their lives back. His geodesic-dome housing was the proof. The structure is light, strong, fast to build, energy-efficient to live in, and rooted in the same natural geometry that holds the rest of the universe together.
We are committed to bringing this vision off the page and into the lives of the working poor through our Heather's Havens program — a decompression-chamber program that gives struggling families a real, dignified roof and the breathing room they need to start again.
Housing alone isn't the work; it's the doorway. Once a family is housed safely, the rest of the YNMT mission — outreach, skills training, wisdom-sharing — can finally land. That's what Heather's Havens is for, and that's why geodesic homes are the architecture we're building on.
